Balance und Störung

Der Entwurf besteht aus drei großflächigen Wandmalereien für drei ausgelobten Standorten im Inneren des Amtsgerichts Bitterfeld-Wolfen. Die Abstraktion der Malereien öffnen vielfältige Verweise auf die Funktion des Gebäudes, ohne explizit zu werden. Die Proportionen stehen im Kontrast zum historischen Baukörper.

The design comprises three large-scale murals for the three designated locations inside the Bitterfeld-Wolfen District Court. The abstract nature of the paintings opens up a variety of references to the building’s function without being explicit. The proportions contrast with the historic structure.

Die Werke sind nicht Ornament der Architektur, sondern eher Spiel- und Assoziationsfelder. Was als Spiel mit zwei Rechteckformaten beginnt, wird zum dichten Gebilde und evoziert neue Formen. Die Farbigkeit nimmt Töne des Innenraums auf und setzt eigene Akzente ohne ‚laut‘ zu werden.

Wie bei der Arbeit des Gerichts geht es um einen Balanceakt zwischen Freiheit und Grenzen, zwischen Rechten und Pflichten, um Ausgleich und schlussendlich um Verhältnismäßigkeit. Die drei Entwürfe spannen sich jeweils zwischen Boden und Decke der Flure auf, ihre Breite beträgt variierend von 1,80 m bis zu 2,20 m.

The works are not merely decorative elements of the architecture, but rather spaces for play and association. What begins as a play on two rectangular formats develops into a dense structure and evokes new forms. The colour scheme picks up on the tones of the interior and adds its own accents without becoming ‘loud’.

As with the work of the court, it is a balancing act between freedom and boundaries, between rights and duties, a matter of equilibrium and, ultimately, proportionality. The three designs each span the distance between the floor and ceiling of the corridors, with their widths varying from 1.80 m to 2.20 m.
